Benji (he/him) - founder of Myrtle Psychology - is an AHPRA-registered clinical psychologist with over six years of experience working across public and private settings in Melbourne. He works with young people and adults navigating a range of mental health challenges, many of whom come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected. Benji really values curiosity and collaboration, and tries to work alongside his clients to increase self-reflection, develop new skills, and navigate life’s challenges with confidence and resilience. At the core of his practice is fostering a genuine human connection built on safety, compassion, and mutual respect.

Benji takes an integrative approach, tailoring therapy to what makes sense for you and your context. He has completed training to deliver therapy based on a range of evidence-based modalities, including:

Our fees

Individual Therapy Consultation (50 minutes): $260

We determine our fees using the Australian Psychological Society (APS) National Schedule of Recommended Fees 2024–2025 as a guideline, offering rates that are intentionally lower than those suggested.

Medicare

With a referral and Mental Health Care Plan from your GP or psychiatrist, you may be eligible for a Medicare rebate of $141.85 per session (up to 10 sessions per calendar year).

Private health

You may also be eligible for a rebate under private health insurance. However, you cannot claim both Medicare and private insurance rebates for the same session.

Please check with your private health insurer prior to your initial appointment to ensure you are covered for psychology sessions.

Cancellations

If you need to cancel or reschedule, we request that you notify us by at least the business day before your appointment. For Monday appointments, this means contacting on the Friday prior (unless this is a public holiday).

Cancellations within 1 business day of the scheduled appointment are charged at 100% of the total consultation fee.

Level 1/9 Carlton Street, Prahran VIC 3181.

The rooms are also within easy travelling distance from surrounding suburbs of South Yarra, Windsor, St Kilda, Balaclava, Armadale, Toorak and Malvern.
