I believe effective therapy begins with a strong, genuinely collaborative therapeutic relationship.
Rather than seeing therapy as something that is done to you, I see it as something we build together. I bring clinical knowledge, experience, and a way of understanding psychological patterns, while you bring the unique perspective of having lived your own life. Together, we can begin to make sense of your experiences and understand what may be keeping you stuck.
While therapy can at times be challenging, my aim is to create a space where you feel safe and supported to explore difficult experiences, reflect with curiosity, experiment with new ways of responding, and make meaningful, lasting change.

Every person comes to therapy with a unique history and context.
For this reason, I don't believe in applying a single therapeutic approach to everyone. Instead, I tailor therapy to your individual needs, drawing on a range of evidence-based approaches as needed, most prominently:

CAT is a relational therapy. We explore early experiences in relationships, and build a shared understand of how these may shape ongoing patterns in the ways we relate to ourselves and others.
We paying close attention to how these patterns continue to show up in daily life and in the therapy space, and start to think about different ways of responding.
I have undertaken extensive postgraduate training in Cognitive Analytic Therapy and am currently completing the second year of the two-year training programme. This training, alongside ongoing supervision, has become an important part of how I understand and work with psychological difficulties.

CBT explores the connection between our thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. It offers practical strategies for identifying unhelpful patterns and developing more balanced and effective ways of responding.
I have experience using evidence-based CBT applications such as Graded Exposure for anxiety and phobias, and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).

ACT is a mindfulness-based therapy, that helps people develop a more flexible relationship with difficult thoughts and emotions. It focuses on building fulfillment by emphasising actions that are in line with your personal values.
